The famous, charismatic, and versatile artist Bina Aziz is self-taught. She transitioned from realism to semi-abstract art when she first began painting portraits in the 1980s on contract for architects. Mother and Child, Jesus, Meditation, Ganeshas, Horses, and Nature are a few of her notable series. She has done several commissioned works by architects and interior designers. She did a short stint at the Sir J. J. School of Arts and learned sketching and Computer Graphics according to the ‘Ateliers method in Auckland’, NZ.
After her exhibitions at the Cache Art Gallery in 1996, followed by The Taj Art Gallery and then The Jehangir Art Gallery there was no looking back for Bina. She is currently working with the company Padmasitaa – “Handcrafted Vintage” to produce some premium hand-painted designer clothing under the brand Padmasitaa x Bina Aziz. In addition to being an artist, designer, and philanthropist, Bina has designed jewelry with precious and semi-precious stones and helped raise funds for several NGOs.
